    Jill Taylor will demonstrate stumpwork - a style of embroidery in which the stitched figures are raised from the surface of the work to form a 3-dimensional effect.

    Elizabeth Janzen demonstrates Boutis - a French technique that employs hand stitching & cording to create a raised dimensions that highlight design & patterns.

    Get ready for a fun drawing adventure!

    With just a black pen & blank piece of paper, start your artistic adventure by drawing an object as simple as a strawberry or a teapot. From there, filling the page with lines, dots, shapes, and even magical creatures. There are no rules, just endless possibilities waiting to be explored.

    Celebrated artist and experienced instructor Wan Li Zhang will guide us through the creative process, offering prompts to unlock your imagination and helpful hints to create your spontaneous drawing.

    Whether you're an experienced artist or a beginner, this workshop will unfold a fantastical world before your eyes!

    Materials will be provided during the workshop. Just bring yourself and your imagination—we'll take care of the rest!

    Artist/Instructor Bio

    Wan Li Zhang, originally from Kashi, China, is a versatile artist & experienced instructor based in Vancouver, Canada. She holds a B.A. & M.A. in Fine Arts from the Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts & has received accolades for her work in national & provincial exhibitions in China. Since relocating to Canada in 1990, her art has gained international recognition & is collected worldwide. With expertise in various mediums, including printmaking, illustration & oils, Wan Li Zhang inspires students to explore diverse artistic expressions in her teaching.
